Voy a una boda…

This week I’ll be leaving the hot and humid south and headin’ to a weddin’ up north.  I can’t wait to get there and see all my family and celebrate! In honor of the bride and groom I thought I’d post a few “wedding words” and help some Spanish learners out there expand their vocabulary un poco.

¿Listos, todos?

Wedding –> la boda
Bride –>la novia
Groom –> el novio
Bridesmaid –> la dama
Maid of Honor –> la dama de honor
Groomsmen –> los padrinos de boda
Wedding Dress –> el vestido de novia
Wedding Veil –>  el velo nupcial
Wedding Ring –> el anillo de matrimonio
Wedding Cake –> el pastel de bodas
Wedding Shower –> la despedida (de soltera) “saying goodbye to being single”
Reception –> la fiesta de casamiento
Wedding Bells –> las campanas de boda
Wedding Rehearsal –> el ensayo de boda (casamiento)
Wedding Vows –> los votos matrimoniales
